Oryx is one of the largest companies in the business of natural stone manufacturing, supplying and contracting. Over the last decades oryx was a part of El Alfy Qatar for Marble & Granite worked closely with a wide variety of Architect, Consultants and Project Managers on arrange of new construction and renovation projects.
The shareholders structure of El Alfy Qatar for Marble & Granite changed in 2015 when Al Jaber Group and Mr. Zeyad Abu Agina acquired a 100% of the company shares by purchasing the Egyptian Partners (El Alfy brothers) shares.
The new management Mr. Mohamed Sultan Al Jaber – Chairman and Mr. Zeyad Abu Agina – Managing Director decided to develop the natural stone business by implementing the following vision:
• Provide the highest quality services and products.
• Widen the company network of clients internationally.
• Being one the leading stone companies in the region.
• Apply the latest technology.
In order to implement the above vision the owners separated oryx as a new independent company in 2015 with the highly professional Staff, Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers they executed the major and valuable projects earlier with El Afly. In addition to hiring new professional experienced personnel specialized in marble and granite.
So, oryx is combination of new management, professional personnel, and latest technology with the main target of customer satisfaction by providing best quality of service in competitive prices, after sales services.
The key players in oryx have a wide range of projects done during the decade as per the project list attached.

DIRECTORS SPEECH

 

It was a great step for me to start the business of natural stones by establishing first company El Alfy Qatar for Marble & Granite in the year 2007 and there is a strong impression and feeling when I recall the difficulties in starting and pleasures in each steps of success.
In the first place I got in the business of natural stone as one of complementary activity to our group of companies established in 2004, but it was different experience for me when I got involved in the operation to feel that it is not only a contracting business but it is a matter of art.
Everytime I observed this business growing and the projects in the ground I decided to expand our facility in this business by investing in the new technology to give best quality of service which is our clients deserves.
The first expansion it was on 2012-2013 by new investment in machineries and equipment in the amount of QR.30 Million to became the largest company in Qatar located on 30,000m2 having integrated manufacturing facilities in the field of marble & granite to meet all types of demands in the market. I am very glad that our first company in this field was participated in the development plan of State of Qatar with a wide range of valuable projects in public and private sectors.
Due to our vision for more development in the natural stone business we acquired 100% shareholders of first company El Alfy in 2015 and separated a big part of our facilities to Oryx our new independent entity to get better market share position by putting all our efforts, staff, facilities, and new technology in service of our clients.
The difference between our company and the others that we are not giving any promises just to provide a good quality of service but we are giving our promise to keep the following values:

The policy of our Company is to obtain the best value for the materials, goods, and services that it purchases from, and to maintain the highest ethical standards in dealing with, its suppliers. Value includes price, quality, and service.

POLICY

 

The Purchasing Policy will direct every effort toward the acquisition of quality products and services at the most advantageous price.


•Solicitation should involve a cross-section of qualified vendors.


•Purchases shall follow what is customary in the market place for a particular service, commodity, or product


•Everything being equal, recycled products shall be considered over non-recycled products


•Purchases must be approved by appropriate authorized signatory, supervisors, and CPC authority prior to issuing a purchase order or processing a check request


•Volume or pool purchases, annual purchase agreements

 

PRINCIPLES

 

Purchasing Departments is the one authorized for the procurement of materials, goods All buying, including commitments to buy and related activities, will be handled by the Purchasing Departments.


1. Purchasing needs arise in a variety of contexts. In some cases, the company unit with a purchasing need may wish to engage prospective suppliers in preliminary discussions. In other cases, the company unit may decide to ask Purchasing to deal with prospective suppliers. In no case should a company unit commit the company to a purchase without involving the appropriate Purchasing Department.


2. Approved purchasing processes must be used in every case, to ensure that the supplier is selected objectively. Frequently, competitive bids will be used in order to obtain best value.


3. Approved contracts, developed by Purchasing and the Legal Department, including approved templates will be used wherever possible to ensure that the company’s
a. interests are fully protected


b. purchasing initiatives are appropriately implemented. Forms provided by suppliers should be used only in exceptional circumstances, and only with the prior approval of Purchasing or the Legal Department. Letters of Intent, which are by definition non-binding, are discouraged, and should not be used without the prior approval of Purchasing and the Legal Department


4. Purchasing will provide details to the Controller’s Division of contracts or purchase orders


5. Purchasing is responsible for managing the financial and administrative aspects of contracts and purchase orders.

Code of Conduct
The success of Elalfy depends on the integrity and professionalism that we demonstrate in our day to day dealings with others. As a business, we are committed to complying with the law and conducting all activities with the highest level of integrity and ethical standards.

This Code of Conduct has been adopted by our board of directors and contains the principles that guide our business conduct. The Code applies to all our business interests and activities worldwide and to everyone working at, or engaged by, Elalfy.


The Code of Conduct requires that an employee must:


•Act in the best interest of ELALFY while performing your job for the Company. A conflict of interest arises when your personal activities and relationships interfere, or appear to interfere, with your ability to act in the best interest of the Company.


•Protect the Company’s assets, and use those assets in the manner intended.


•Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information entrusted to them by the Company or its customers or suppliers without authorization


•Not accept gifts or any other favor, from customers or suppliers if doing so might compromise, or appear to compromise, your ability to make objective business decisions in the best interest of ELALFY.


•Report if any approach has been made by any person / firm which compromises the integrity of the position concerned.


•Follow the applicable laws and regulatory orders of every jurisdiction in which the company operates.


•Value and treat business / channel partners of ELALFY with courtesy and efficiency.


•Not discriminate, harass or intimidate other employees as ELALFY is an equal opportunity employer.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

 

El Alfy perform all activities pertaining to mining, processing and supply of natural marble with commitment to:


•Promote the Prevention of pollution, conservation of energy and ensure that all waste is handled and disposed-off responsibly.


•Abide by the Royal Decrees, Ministerial Decisions and other requirements to which we subscribe concerning environmental aspects.


•Continuous monitoring and continual improvement of Environmental Performance through a dedicated Environment Management System.


•Recycle wherever possible and use Environment friendly products.


•Provide appropriate on field training and create awareness amongst the employees to be environmentally responsible.


•Communicate the Environment Policy to all employees, related parties and to the public at large.
